Tomo Ohka represents, in some ways, the kind of sensible trades
the Brewers have been making of late. Nobody's going to confuse
him with even a middle-of-the-rotation starter, but they got him
for the pawn shop price of Junior Spivey when Nationals GM
Jim Bowden decided he'd had enough of
Ohka's antics. According to Baseball Prospectus, he
can throw "four different flavors of junk for strikes, and can
be especially maddening for lefty hitters, keeping them waiting
for the cookie that never comes." He got shelled in yesterday's game, giving up
seven earned runs.
