Ah, beloved old Ebbets Field -- mostly beloved by nostalgiacs who never had to go to any of the games in a park that had outlasted its usefulness and era. Now home to the Jackie Robinson Apartments, a housing complex. (Here's the ballparks.com link.)
My favorite moment about Ebbets Field occurred during the 2002 World Series. Pac Bell, the name sponsor for the Giants' home park (now SBC Park), took out a full page ad in the World Series program with a photo of the old Ebbets Field rotunda, and a single word above it: "Cathedral". As if there weren't enough salt in that wound, the ad appeared in the middle of the special Giants insert section. (It's on page SF10, if you're interested.)
