06_Matt_Brown (6/33)
Drafted in the 10th round, Matt Brown
didn't play at all in 2004 and 2005. He's starting off 2006 very
smartly with Arkansas, hitting .348/.392/.583 and six homers,
second on the team. He made a magnificent, major league caliber
play at third in the
top of the second to stab Jesus Guzman's hot smash down the line
and throw him out. Like a lot of Angels farmhands, he still
swings and misses far more than he walks, in his case nearly ten
times as many strikeouts (67 K's vs. 8 walks). Changing that
significantly could cause his stock to rise.
