... Antonio Perez came to bat. With the five-man infield in place, the obvious way out of this pickle was to hit the ball into center. Perez got the ball out of the infield, all right, but he smacked a line drive straight into the glove of Tommy Murphy -- who threw a bullet to catcher Mike Napoli, who jumped to get the high throw. Both players saved the game for the Angels, as the next two batters grounded out to short.
