Jeff Weaver got the start, and got five earned runs over 4.0 IP. He later claimed he hadn't thrown any breaking stuff yet, so he wasn't worried. This is his first spring pitching for a team with a spring training facility in Arizona, so that probably didn't help, either.

BTW, the haze you see is the head of the guy standing up in front of me. Tough to take pictures that way... maybe next year I'll get press credentials. NOT!
