A 33-year-old lefty originally drafted by the Tigers, Justin Thompson hasn't ever really shown why he should stay in the majors, outside of one good year with the Tigers in 1998. Thompson recovered from four shoulder surgeries in 2004, making a return in the pitching-starved Rangers organization in 2005. Nonetheless, the Brewers signed him on a flyer, to a minor league deal. He collected a pair of strikeouts in yesterday's game, not a bad showing.
